A beautiful silver gelatin print on fiber toned in selenium.
Transport was taken in the city of Beijing during my visit to China in 2016. As I was exiting the Temple of Heaven, I ended up amongst a slew of bicycles, cars and mopeds zipping through a busy intersection. With all the chaos and noise surrounding me, this tiny, three wheeled vehicle caught my attention as it lingered silently not far away. I enjoy looking at this photograph because it gives me a feeling of tranquility. The patterns in this picture are well balanced and bring harmony between such contrasting elements of asphalt, brick and metal.
This photograph is carefully handmade by Chris Limbrick in his private studio using high quality fiber based paper and 100% cotton fiber, acid-free, 4-ply museum board. Learn more about the printing process and how Chris works in his darkroom.
